Mother's Day Cards and Second Sketch Attempt

This is the card I made for both my Mother and Mother in law for Mother's Day.  The last time I tried this sketch I was pretty literal with it but this time I took more liberties with it (that sounds kind of funny in the context of a card ;) ).  I am happier with the result but I think for the card set I am going to try something different since I don't think this is the sketch for me (I really struggled with it).

  1. I think your card is beautiful, and I empathize with you about the sketch. I am sketch-challenged, so I mostly just don't do them. I think it's because I don't like to be told what to do. :)

  2. I think your card is beautiful. I agree with Shona. I think sometimes it's hard to follow the rules. I never know when I'm pushing the boundaries so much, I've no longer followed the sketch.

  4. What a lovely card! And I think you're allowed to take whatever liberties you want with a sketch... it's a guideline, not a hard rule. :)

  5. We all see something different when it comes to a sketch. You have created a very pretty card! I tend to skip layers when doing sketches.

  6. I like to use sketches as a jumping off point and them follow the card in whatever direction it takes me. Your card is lovely!
