I have been making this style of baby card for years and I was originally inspired by a tutorial from Lauren Meader with punches. I can't find the tutorial any longer and I now use my spellbinders circle dies (so much easier to get through both layers than with punches) so I thought I would create a video on how to make this card. I have used it for shower invites, banners, and just about anything baby related. It's super cute and fairly easy to do. I forgot to take a picture of the inside but I used the "twinkle, twinkle" set from unity, it is the perfect sentiment for a baby card and lately with my family I have needed a lot of them. The middle "baby" stamp came from a Unity grab bag that I won on FWF and its from one the the kit of the month sets but I can't remember which one.

Where does the time go? I can't believe that Christmas is almost here, but at least I am almost done my shopping. I actually hate the crowded malls so I try to start early, but with the kids getting older I am running out of places to hide things. One of the last things I get are gift cards for the kids teachers, etc. but while I know they are appreciated they just are not as fun for me to give. That is why I like to make these gift card holders to put them in. This way I can add that personal touch that I feel is sometimes missing from a gift card. I stamped a sentiment on the inside but still left room to write a personalized message for the recipient.

Its Valentines and we were challenge to come up with a project based on this picture
I decided to make a heart shaped box, I have always wanted to try one and I was really happy with how it turned out. Head on over to crop chocolate for the video and a challenge based on this project.
Supplies
2- Large scallop shaped hearts
1- Regular heart smaller than the scallop (this will be the base of the lid)
1-Regular heart smaller than all the rest (this will be the base of the bottom)
1-Strip of cardstock 2.5 x 8.5 (this may need to be longer depending on the size of your heart)
1-Strip of cardstock 1 x 10 (this may need to be longer depending on the size of the heart)
Instructions:
1. Take the strip of each piece of cardstock and score it in half horizontally and a 1/2" on the vertical edge.
2. Crease the score marks with a bone folder.
3. Take the long edge and cut small triangle pieces from the 1/2" edge. This will leave small wedge shapes that will be used to wrap around the heart shapes.
4. Do this for both pieces.
5. Take the smallest heart and apply adhesive around the edge
6. Wrap the 2.5" wide cardstock around the heart, attaching the little wedges to the adhesive.
Hint: Start in the middle at the tip of the heart for a nice crisp fold
7 When you get the first side to the inside of the heart leave a small flap and fold it over, trim off any excess
8. Repeat the same process for the second half of the heart and trim any excess
9. Apply a small amount of adhesive to the small flap and adhere it to the other side.
10. Take the other regular heart and repeat steps 5-9 with the 1" strip of card stock
11. Apply adhesive to the bottom and top hearts and adhere to the scallop hearts
Our challenge for this month was to create a project based on a song. I decided to a layout based on Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlise. I had these really cute pictures of my daughter taken with some butterflies and this seemed like the perfect challenge to create a layout for them.

Rhinestone Template
Instructions:
Take a rhinestone template and lightly attach to the paper (note I used painters tape, and removed some tackiness by sticking it on my shirt first)
Sponge a slightly contrasting ink over the holes of the template, you want this to be fairly light but contrasting enough to see the marks.
Squeeze liquid pearls on the marks left behind from the template, try to match the size of the marks as well.
When you have applied all of the liquid pearls gently tap the paper to remove the "peaks" left behind the pearls and round them out.
Let dry and use on your project, note I cut mine out but you don't need to.

Here is the original inspiration for all the easel cards you have been seeing were inspired by this one from November. The instructions were easy enough for my husband to follow so hopefully I can inspire you to make some. If you do leave a comment I would love to see what you make.
Supplies
4” x 12” piece of card stock
3.75” x 3.75” piece of decorative card stock
3.75” x 3.75” piece of white card stock
1-1.5” x 3.75” piece of card stock
Distress ink (optional)
Adhesive
Scoring Tool
Embellishments, stamps, etc
Instructions
Take a 4” x 12” piece of card stock and cut at 4”. You will have two pieces a 8” x 4” (base) and a 4” x 4” (card top)
Take the base piece and line it up horizontally, score it at 2” and 4”
Fold it in half at the 4” mark and then over itself again at the 2” mark (like an accordion fold)
Cut a piece of pattern paper 3.75” x 3.75”, decorate and embellish as desired. Once it is embellished adhere to the top piece (4” x 4”)
Adhere the 4”x 4” top piece to the accordion fold and line it up so that when the card is flat it is 4”x 4” (top of the base piece to the top of the accordion fold)
Take a 3.75” x 1.5” strip (punch, stamp or embellish if desired) and adhere to the bottom of the 3.75” x 3.75” white piece (this is where the top will rest on, creating the easel effect). Since this part will be visible when the card is open, you can place your greeting here or do some other decorative effect.
Open the card and adhere the 3.75” x 3.75” piece of white card stock to the bottom on the inside.
When closed the card will measure 4” x 4”, but when open the top piece can rest on the small piece (1.5” x 3.75”) and create an easel
I love making criss cross cards, there is something about them that I love. Recently my daughter complained to me that I don't make her nice cards. She had just finished making me some beautiful cards, and she asked me why I never made her nice ones. She has seen some I have made for various occasions and would always ask for the card and I would have to say no. When I saw the MME Market Street 6x6 pad I just knew it would be perfect for my daughter;s birthday card. She just turned 5 (where does the time go) and she loved it.
1- 5.25 x 4 piece of double sided CS (or two single sided)
Other Embellishments as desired
Cut the 8.5 x 11 card stock in half at the 4.25 mark.
Take each of your pieces and score them half along the long edge at 5.5
Line up the corners of the inside score mark and the outside corner (this should make a triangle) and cut along the diagonal. Do this for both pieces
Add adhesive to the rectangle portion of one piece and then place the second piece (rectangular portion) on top. Make sure that the long ends of the triangle pieces are on the same side (top or bottom)
Cut the double sided paper in half along the diagonal.
Adhere one side to one triangle and turn over and do the same for the other triangle but you will need to turn it over. Note: If you used single sided CS you will need to cut two rectangles and cut each on the opposite diagonal for the paper to match the triangles of the card.
Add adhesive to the bottom of one triangle portion and glue down, do the same for the other
Cut and embelish a piece of 5.25 x 4 card stock to use for the insert and decorate as desired.
Decorate the rest of the card as desired, I tied a ribbon on the front and used die cuts on the top for a tab pull. Products used: MME Madison Ave Spellbinders Floral Doiley Motifs
After I made the shutter card I saw a picture of something called a shutter card album. I did mine a bit differently then the one I saw and I wish I could remember where I saw the other one and if I find it I will link the original. But here is version of a shutter card album

Paper trimmer
Scoring tool
2 - 12x12 sheets of card stock
Patterned paper to decorate (used MME 6x6 Lost and Found Madison Ave)
Crystal Stickles
Bling
Magnet for closure (you could also use ribbon or velcro)
Cut the first sheet of card stock in half, you will make 2 shutter cards for the bases.
Take the card stock horizontally (long side) and score it at the 2”, 4”, 8”, and 10” marks.
Turn the card stock 90 degrees and cut between the 2” and 10” score marks 1 ½” in on each side, you will have 3 sections of the card but it will be in one piece. Fold the score lines so that front and back are a sideways “T” and the other flaps tuck in behind.
To do this you will fold as follows: Take the middle section and fold the second score line out (mountain) and the next one in (valley). Note you will fold at 4”, and 8” marks.
One the top and bottom sections you will fold on all score lines the first score line fold will be out (mountain), and then in (valley), and then out (mountain) and then in (valley) again. Note you will fold at 2”, 4”, 10”, and 12”.
When the card is closed it will be 6” by 4”, so if anything is sticking, chances are something is folded the opposite direction.
Repeat for the other 12"x6" piece, these will be the base of the album
Cut the other 12"x12" piece of card stock in half, from one of the 6"x12" pieces cut it in half. Take each piece and score it at the 2" mark (these are the covers of the album)
Take the other 6"x12" piece and cut at 4", you will have a 4"x6" piece and a 8"x6" piece
Put the two "cards" side by side and open them up, then adhere the 4x6 piece of card stock in the middle (where the two back panels meet in the middle)
Fold the 6"x6" piece at the 2" score line and adhere to the front panel with the flap of the 6"x6" piece going behind the flap on the front, repeat for the other side.
Attach a die cut to the front for the closure, if you are using magnets apply before decorating, if you are using ribbon add the ribbon to the back.
Adhere the 6x8 piece of card stock to the back
Decorate the album as desired.

For my September project for crop chocolate we had to use this sketch made by D2
This is what I came up with
I did a tutorial on how to make the stars, I love using them on my sons's album since flowers seem to be out for some reason :)
Instructions for stars 1. Cut out a 5 point star 2. Score each point in the middle (5 times) 3. Crease each score line with a bone folder 4. Fold the star along the score lines (this will help shape the star) 5. Unfold the star and shape as necessary 6. Put a foam dot in the middle of the star (on the bottom) and place a thin line of glue along the edge of the entire star. The foam dot will help the star keep its shape.

I am so excited to finally post this. I was featured on the Crop Chocolate blog as a guest designer. I made a video tutorial on how to make the flower on this easel card. It was my first video and it took me 4 times to get it right but I am so excited to have been featured. For this card I used Basic Grey Wisteria that I got at Crop Chocolate and the ribbon was from some "Hot Chocolate" they sent a while ago.
