Growing in Unity Day 5

Well it's my last day for Growing in Unity and I loved it so much I hope to do it again next year.  My last card was made at my daughter's request.  I love this stamp because it reminds me of her and her friend, she asked me to make a card and then she did the same.  She gave her friend the other one and then kept this one so that they could have matching stamps.

Unfortunately her friend just isn't in to scrap booking because it would have been nicer if her friend could have made one but at least she has her mom.  I have to admit I have been on a teal kick lately, must be the regret from getting the grey Raskog cart instead of teal.  Since then I have been buying everything in that color and wish I had of gotten the cart in that color even if it didn't match the room.  I am thinking of painting a room in this color because I love it so much.

Growing in Unity Day 4

It's day four of my Growing in Unity week and I am having so much fun.    I made this baby card to keep in my stash for when the next little girl comes along.  I make love making this baby card because its a bit different then what I normally make and its so much fun to make.  This stamp is from the Echo Park Little Girl line and if you don't have it yet its a really nice set.  In fact I love all the EP sets and almost have them all.

Please leave a comment and stop by each day this week for your chance to win your choice of two itty bitty stamps from Unity Stamp Company.  Don't let the name fool you they are not itty and some of my favorite sets are itty bitty.

Growing in Unity Day 3

Wow I can't believe it's day three already, I was so excited for my week and it is just flying by.  I really enjoy all the comments and I appreciate you taking the time to write them.  I have to admit lately I have become addicted to the Phyllis Harris Stamps at Unity and now that I am more comfortable coloring and cutting I have been using them lots (plus it's so much fun to do with my daughter).

This stamp reminds me so much of my daughter when she was younger, she called them "pezzle puffs" and never let one go to waste.  I plan on using this as a note card when she has another french presentation, she gets nervous but has to do them once a month and I like to give her a little note of encouragement.

Growing in Unity Day # 2

Its my second day for Growing in Unity and I just had to make an easel card for my week but I resisted the urge to make them for all five days.  These are my go to cards and the sentiment on this stamp just seemed so perfect for a card.   If you haven't checked out the sentiment sets at Unity you should give them a try they are full of great stamps.  I even fussy cut the entire image and mounted it to a lacey circle die cut from spellbinders.  I love how it looked on the stamped image and it was so much fun to color.  I added pearls to the bottom border (for those that know me, they know I love to add a bit of bling to everything).

Growing in Unity Day 1

I am so excited to be the Growing in Unity Girl this week, I have been waiting so long!  I have been hooked on their stamps ever since I got my first set Ticket to Christmas from Crop Chocolate.  I used to be a clear stamp person but after using the red rubber from Unity I have been hooked.  I also started using my Shinhan Touch markers I bought a while ago and realized that it is actually fun to color and fussy cut.

I have to confess I am a lefty and used to hate it so much I made my husband do it if I really needed something, but I was pretty good at avoiding it.  I think the problem was I needed the right scissors because once I did it wasn't that bad and I actually started to enjoy it (although being a lefty means I am cutting on the wrong side lol).  One of the favorite things about getting ready for this week has been sharing with my daughter,  she loves to stamp and color more than me and even convinced my husband "we" needed more colors.  He is a such a sweetheart, (in case he actually reads my blog).

Too Beautiful for Earth

I originally intended to make this card as a sympathy card for a friend who lost his father but I have to admit I love this stamp too much to use on something that will likely get tossed (normally doesn't bother me but this one did).  So instead I decided to switch it up and use it for the Unity Color Challenge instead.  I love how the image turned out but I wasn't a fan of the ink, I borrowed it from a friend at a crop because I forgot my black (gasp) and while she is a stamper herself I have no idea how she doesn't get blurred lines.  I decided to work with it though and purposely blurred the grass at the bottom.

Happy Valentines Day

I have to admit I procrastinated and left the valentines till the last minute, I made this card for my sweet and understanding husband.  It didn't turn out how I envisioned it but unfortunately I didn't have time to try something else.  My husband loved it and that is what counts, right !

Next I made some little valentines for my kids, I used my envelope maker to make some cute envelopes for them and then stamped the envelope on the outside.  I just love how the envelopes turned out and I am going to start making more of them.  The kids loved them and my four year old son called them beautiful (he is so sweet).

FWF-My Daughter's Creation

I went to a crop at my church last weekend and brought my 7 year old daughter with me.  She loves to creat cards and layouts too and it so much fun to do with her.  She created some fantastic cards with my Unity Stamps and my markers.  It's great watching her syle evole, and she has completely different taste from me. When I showed her the paper she could use she picked this, which was something I won at another crop and wasn't too fussy on but I was amazed at what she did with it.  I am one proud mamma, and decided to enter her creations in the FWF mostly because she loves getting praise for her work (apparently I don't count).

I also realize that I need to be more like her, she doesn't save her favorite paper, she uses it right away, and when she makes a card she immediately gives it away.  All the cards she made have already been given to the recipients.  The best part was that she came home and told my husband I needed more markers, man I love that girl !!!

P.S.  New markers are on the way :)

Let your love Fly

I made this card for the DCWV sketchaholic challenge in January, it was based on this sketch but I didn't get to submit it because I got the day mixed up for the deadline and wanted to use natural daylight to take a picture.  Good news is that I finally got a light tent so hopefully that won't be a problem in the future.
