Teacher Appreciation # 3

Here is the last of the mini albums I made for the kids teachers last June.  This was also made with the Monsters and Robots stack from DCWV.  The albums made with this stack were perfect for my son's Kindergarten teacher/assistant.  I even made the covers from his favorite snack Blueberry Yogurt Breakfast Bear Paws.  It was a special treat she used to give him and when I told her she thought it was a special touch.  I also had son write a thank you note to them and I put this in an envelope on the inside cover.

Here is a picture of all three albums together and a video I made of them.  They are very hard to photograph so that is why I created a video to show them as well.

Teacher Appreciation # 2

Phew this has been a super busy week, I had to unexpectedly go out of town and to top it off it was my daughters birthday today.  This meant that after I was down taking the kids trick or treating I had to make a doll cake (you know the kind where the cake is the skirt).  It was a late night last night but she loved it.  I even had time to pull out my bag maker and used it to make some quick and easy treat bags for the party.

I am posting the second teacher appreciation album (a little late I know) but the good news is I did find a video. So when I post the third one, I will add the video showing all three of them.  This was made for my son's junior kindergarten teacher.  She was amazing and I even had him write a thank you note for her.

Teacher Appreciation

I was going through posts, and realized I never posted the teacher appreciation mini albums I made for my children's teachers last June.  I was waiting till I gave the teachers their gifts but then never got around to posting the actual albums.  My kids were so blessed to have amazing teachers last year, and in fact my daughter was in tears that her teacher was changing schools.  I decided to make them mini albums and DCWV stacks are perfect for this.  You get so many coordinating elements and papers it makes it easy to put them together.  I am posting the album I made for my daughters teacher, and in the next day or two I will post the two I made for my son's teachers.  Each page has a pocket at the top with a photo mat to pull out, and the mats are all 6 1/2" x 4 1/2" so all the teacher needs to do is add photo's.  I try to make albums for non scrappers easy this way, since I know a lot of them won't want to trim pictures, etc.  I also used the cut apart cards in the stack, and put them in the pockets so they can add journaling etc.

Mini Album #3

This is my final post of the mini albums I made for Christmas gifts.   I made them for non scrapbookers so I made the photomats 4.5" x 6.5" so that they would fit 4x6 pictures without cropping.  This is the album I gave to my mom and she loved it.  The albums made a nice dent in my stash which despite my best efforts seems to grow when I am not looking.  I used some Phyllis Harris and Echo Park stamps from Unity on the photo/journalling mats.  I liked the look of stamping on patterned paper and I am going to try it again.

Here is a video of all the albums I made since its hard to get good pictures of the albums themselves.

Christmas Mini Album # 2

I am sharing the second of three mini albums I made for Christmas gifts.  This one was for my mother in law and she loves bright colors so I made this one from the Mango Frost stack by DCWV.  This was one of her favorite paper stacks and I wanted to use papers I knew she would love.  I will be posting the third album later this week and with that one I will post a video since I find its really hard to take pictures to show the albums with all the flaps, pull outs etc.

Christmas Mini's

Today I am sharing the first of three mini albums I made for Christmas gifts.  This is actually the last one I made and it was for my daughter.  I made the other two for my mom and my mother in law and when she saw them she asked for one.  I have to admit it was a bit of a rush to finish hers in time but I love how it turned out and so did she.  Once I have all three posted I will link a video showing each album since they are very hard to photograph.  One thing that is hard to see in the pictures is that each page has a top pocket with a tab that holds photo mats for more photos.  This style album holds tons of 4x6 pictures and makes a great gift for non scrappers since they don't need to crop the pictures down.

Spellbinders Blog Ambassador Mini

 Spellbinders Blog Ambassador Mini Album

I am excited to finally share my latest mini album I made.  I made a similar one as a Christmas gift and I had so much fun I decided to make another.  I was never one for making mini albums but I love this style of album because it holds 4x6 pictures which makes it perfect for gift giving.  Its very interactive with a pocket on each page with a photo tag/mat, mini file folder, or matchbook mini inside.  On the outside pockets are additional photo mats with the tabs sticking out.

One of my favorite parts was making the letters, I love the new fonts from Spellbinders and because they cut chipboard you can make dimensional titles with them.  I have a tutorial here, I used the 1" Miracle tape from Viva Las Vegas Stamps.  It's great for making mini albums and comes in so many sizes at a reasonable price.

Sometimes it can be hard to photograph albums like this and show all the different elements so I made a quick video showing the album here:

Mini Album

I have been meaning to post this project for awhile but it took me awhile to find the pictures.  I made this mini album for my husband as a Christmas gift, I took pictures before I added photo's.  It would have been nice to get photo's standing up of the pages but I was sneaking around trying to get this done.  One thing I noticed is that I didn't take a photo of the slide out photo mats.  Watch the video and you can see more of it, this album was inspired by a Paper Phenomenon brag book, I got the binding idea from this video, and the cover from fellow DT member Kathy Clayton.  This was my first time attempting anything this complicated and I loved how it turned out.

Here is the video I made of the album on YouTube

Here are the photo's of the pages, next time I will make my husband help prop it up for the photo's but this time I couldn't.

Always and Forever Mini Album

Okay I have to admit I forgot about this Valentines project when I said there would be no more.  This is a mini album I made for Valentines Day.  My husband and I like to make gifts for each other and this was mine to him.  The left side of the album is from our wedding day and the right side is from our vow renewal.  I have to brag my husband up a bit (okay a lot) for that one.  For our 12th wedding anniversary he surprised me with vow renewals at our church.  He made the invitations, wrote the vows, bought a new ring, re proposed, planned a small reception, cooked up a reason to get me to the church, and even made a scrapbook page with the vows.  Our computer died last week so when the new one is up and running I will post pictures of his wonderful creations.  I still remember heading to the church (we had to drop something off) on our way to my 'surprise'.  My husband kind of let me think he was taking me to see Miss Saigon and instead he dropped to one knee and proposed again in front of our friends and family.  I am still so shocked that no one let the cat out of the bag.  I still have to finish that album but I thought this would make a sweet gift and this is what I was hiding in my 'pizza box' that I made for the blog hop.  I know people were wondering what was in the box and now you know.
