Happy Valentines Day

I have to admit I procrastinated and left the valentines till the last minute, I made this card for my sweet and understanding husband.  It didn't turn out how I envisioned it but unfortunately I didn't have time to try something else.  My husband loved it and that is what counts, right !

Next I made some little valentines for my kids, I used my envelope maker to make some cute envelopes for them and then stamped the envelope on the outside.  I just love how the envelopes turned out and I am going to start making more of them.  The kids loved them and my four year old son called them beautiful (he is so sweet).

Washi Tape Holder

I made this washi tape holder for an instructagram contest at Crop Chocolate.  I have been wanting to make one for awhile but since I didn't have an empty box of tin foil I created one (I am sure I will get questioned on the roll in the drawer with no box lol)

I also created an igram at instructagram showing the steps to make one of your own.

Supplies used:

-MME Lush Flocked Paper
-MS Lattice Punch
-Tin Foil Box
-Snake Tape

Spread your wings and fly

I made this for the CropChocolate challenge #24, this challenge was to do what ever we wanted.  I had these great pictures taken of my kids at Easter and I have been wanting to use them and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.  First I have to give kudos to the great photographer, I think she has seen my stash because she colored some of the pictures to match my Lost and Found Paper.  They were taken by the very talented  Julie Nicole Photography, I can't say enough great things about her.  She is great with kids and has a fantastic eye.  I have some more waiting to be scrapped and I can't wait to get them done as the recent ones she did were even better.  My kids love going to see her and even though my son is a two year old and doesn't want to cooperate she manages to get some good ones of him.

Crop Chocolate Challenge #22

I made this layout for the latest Crop Chocolate challenge.  This challenge required you to use pastels, a dark bold color and "some bling for good measure".  This was great as I am trying to finish a trip album and my son's first year album for a while and I knew I could use this for one of those albums.  I choose these pictures of my son and daughter, they were taken at the same age and in the same car seat and bumbo chair.  I thought it was cute to see them side by side 3 years apart.

Crop Chocolate Challenge Grand Send Off

I was inspired to create this box by a fellow DT member Scrappy Canuck.  She made a beautiful box and filled it with notes and inspirational quotes for her daughter.  For this challenge we needed to buy a Bravisimo product and use it in a project. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to make my own box for my daughter.  When ever she would see these boxes she always wanted to buy them but I always resisted because I have never done anything like this.  I actually had to buy a decoupage glue just for it.  I painted the box first because I wasn't sure how the paper was going to go on and I didn't want the wood to show through.  Next I carefully cut and glued the paper down and then added the final bravissimo embellishments.  At first my daughter wanted to decorate the white box with paint and was not happy with my plans to cover it in paper.  However when she saw the finished box she loved it and put the bravisimo embellishment on herself.  I came downstairs and she was so proud of herself, I couldn't help but smile and be proud (even if she didn't quite do it the way I would have).  I started off with a note and made some more to go inside.  Every morning she checks the box for another note and is so happy when she finds one.  I am so happy I decided to take this challenge on, even though it was outside my comfort zone.  The joy that it has brought to my daughter is priceless, she truly cherishes this.

Honeycomb Valentines Day Card

This will be my last valentines project for awhile, I have to be honest I am a little glad to be done with them.  I have been working on them since Christmas so its been a long while.  This is a card I made for my daughter, the inside is a honeycomb, I got the tutorial here Honeycomb Tutorial (Becca does amazing work).  I cut the I and U letters 4 times and glued the layers together.  I then applied stickles but it wasn't glittery enough for my daughter who loves bling (a Mom knows these things), so I applied MS clear glitter to the wet stickles.  I gave her this and the sour cream treat holder today.  Both kids loved their treats and cards, I filled them with cinnamon hearts and they both had red hands for awhile.  The honeycomb is hard to take a picture in a card because you need to spread it out but the effect is very nice.

Another gift card holder

A friend is having a baby boy and we gave them a gift card on top of the baby items.  I made another one of these gift card holders I love how this turned out.  I also used it for a challenge for the CC Focus Group were had to make our own embellishment.  I made the rosette on the front and the rest came together easily.

Crop Chocolate - September Project 3D Stars

For my September project for crop chocolate we had to use this sketch made by D2

This is what I came up with

I did a tutorial on how to make the stars, I love using them on my sons's album since flowers seem to be out for some reason :)

Instructions for stars
1. Cut out a 5 point star
2. Score each point in the middle (5 times)
3. Crease each score line with a bone folder
4. Fold the star along the score lines (this will help shape the star)
5. Unfold the star and shape as necessary
6. Put a foam dot in the middle of the star (on the bottom) and place a thin line of glue along the edge of the entire star. The foam dot will help the star keep its shape.

Here is the Video

Attention Sweetpea1077, can you please contact me about your blog candy?  I will draw a new winner on September 14th, if I don't hear from you.

Ducks go out to play

I was going through my pictures and realized I never posted a picture of the focus group project I made when the Crop Chocolate focus group was set up.  I made this layout because I loved the "Ducks go out to play" news paper clipping from the pitter patter line and it matched the picture so well.  When my daughter was a baby I had her pictures done once a month at the local studio when they would have a walk in special for $8.  She was such a sweet baby and loved getting her picture taken.  I did the same for my son because I didn't want the picture comparison when they got older.  Plus I am much better at scrapbooking then when I first started so his album will probably be nicer.

Blog Candy Alert !
I just wanted to give a heads up about blog candy, I am waiting for my current Crop Chocolate order to come in and then I will post some blog candy so stay tuned because it should be this week sometime.

Welcome to the World

I am such a lucky girl, my hubby let me have a scrapbook day at a friends house and I got to play with some new goodies from Crop Chocolate.  This is a picture of my son when he was born, and the caption below says "Welcome to the World"  I put his name and birth date on there but for I edited it out his sake (who wants their baby pictures all over the internet) .   The papers, and embellishments are from the MM Pitter Patter Oliver line.  I got all them at Crop Chocolate for a great price as usual.  I will do a tutorial on the stars soon so keep posted.
