Stair Step Card

This is a stair step card, I made for a Crop Chocolate challenge.  It was my first time making one and also my first time using my Unity Stamps Blossom Stamps along with the matching Spellbinders dies.  These were alot of fun to use and I can't wait to use them again.  They add such a nice effect and there are so many stamps to match the dies.

Supplies used:

  • Unity Stamps Blossom Stackers
  • Spellbinders Blossom Stackers die
  • Carta Bell Paris Girl 6x6
  • Liquid Pearls
  • Black Cardstock

Crop Chocolate Grand Challenge: The Kiss

For this Crop Chocolate challenge we were required to buy a wooden kiss from OMC and decorate it however we wanted. This was another project way out of my comfort zone but I am happy with how this turned out. It sits in my bedroom and my husband really likes it (so does my daughter but she gets enough of my crafty goodies). I used the Sincerely Your paper collection from Trinity arts to make this and I love the romantic feel of the paper and felt it fit the theme well. I cut the "Hugs and Kisses" then after trial and error used spray adhesive for the glitter. I even used perfect pearls mist to give the wooden parts a pearlescent effect. I also added it to the flowers and they look almost glittery (it's like the franks red hot sauce of my craft room I put it on everything). The flourish was made with a Viva Decor Black Pearl Pen (I really like how well they go on).

Crop Chocolate Challenge # 3

Crop Chocolate is running an online crop and you have till May 13th to enter. This was for the something borrowed challenge.  I "borrowed" this card from Wild Flower ~ Jasmine , here is my take on her card.  You still have time to enter and this was a fun contest.  I made the pearl flourish using a Silhouette Rhinestone template and liquid pearls.  I have a video on how to do this here.

Tax Act Flowers

I love making flowers and I recently fell in love with flowers made from pages of the dictionary.  Since I didn't have a dictionary with the thin pages, I used the next best thing the Income Tax Act !  My apologies to my tax teacher if your reading this, but somehow Frank doesn't strike me as the kind of person to follow craft blogs.  This card was made for the Crop Chocolate recipe challenge.  We had to use three die cuts, three brads, and something that sparkles (my favorite part).

Butterfly Kisses-Making a flourish with Liquid Pearls

Our challenge for this month was to create a project based on a song.  I decided to a layout based on Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlise.  I had these really cute pictures of my daughter taken with some butterflies and this seemed like the perfect challenge to create a layout for them.

Here is the layout

and here is a closeup of the swirl I created using Liquid Pearls

The are actually easy to make and here are the instructions and a video if you would like to try it yourself.

Supplies:

  • Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky "Perfect" Butterflies Paper
  • Liquid Pearls
  • White Ink
  • Card Stock
  • Rhinestone Template

Instructions:

  • Take a rhinestone template and lightly attach to the paper (note I used painters tape, and removed some tackiness by sticking it on my shirt first)
  • Sponge a slightly contrasting ink over the holes of the template, you want this to be fairly light but contrasting enough to see the marks.
  • Squeeze liquid pearls on the marks left behind from the template, try to match the size of the marks as well.
  • When you have applied all of the liquid pearls gently tap the paper to remove the "peaks" left behind the pearls and round them out.
  • Let dry and use on your project, note I cut mine out but you don't need to.
